Hi all,

I haven't used this yet myself but try freecycle.org
It's not uncommon that someone might take your old computer off your 
hands for parts.

I have also been able to offload stuff via Craigslist and EBay.

Also, I was able to recently take a 6 year old iMac over to Yes 
computers, where they bought it for parts.
I got $50 bucks, and they got parts to fix computers.
