Reva,

If your husband is doing creative work, there's nothing that beats an
Apple (I'm very familiar with both platforms). For a laptop, I would
highly recommend the MacBook Pro (http://www.apple.com/macbookpro).
I'm convinced it's the best (laptop) computer the world has to offer.

If you already have a nice monitor and want something other than a
laptop I would suggest the mac mini (http://www.apple.com/macmini).
It's a fantastically amazing little white square-thingy than has a
really fast dual processor, can burn dvds/cds and comes with the
amazing iLife (itunes, iphoto, idvd, iweb, imovie) software package...
(I bought my parents one for christmas)

and I'm not even an apple representative...but I'm thinking about
it :} let me know if you have more questions. I'd love to help you
make the "switch".

Regards,

Tom Adams
