I kind of agree. I end up keeping multiple CDs, zip disks, floppies and files on different computers for backups. There is way too much paper in my life as it is. Of course, I probably have too many CDs floating around, but I like the convenience of disk copies. Of course, I wrote my thesis novel at UMass using RNF and EDIT on the Cyber, stored the tape version in the UMass computer library at a cost of $1.00 per year for 3 years, downloaded the tape, converted the files to Spellbinder (CP/M), then to WordPerfect then to Word. When it came time to extract some sections of it for use elsewhere, I simply copied the files I needed. Why not just save a reference copy on a removable medium like a floppy disk, and keep the working copy on the hard drive?
