Bethany, To my knowledge, there is no "licensing" for software engineers per se, just the various certifications out there. Professional iability insurance might not be a bad idea to get, but it can be expensive. There's a good company I get a lot of my insurance from called Bell & Hudson in Belchertown. They can certainly help you out if you are curious to at least get a quote. -Josh > -------Original Message------- > From: Bethany Seeger <bethany at seeger.ws> > Subject: Re: [Hidden-tech] advice on contracting > Sent: 22 Sep '05 18:25 > > ** Be a Good Dobee and help the group > ** Fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** Remember you must be counted to post . > > I should mention that I'm a software engineer, in case that makes any > difference. > > Bethany > > Bethany Seeger wrote: > > > ** Be a Good Dobee and help the group > > ** Fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > > ** Remember you must be counted to post . > > > > > > Hello, > > I was wondering if someone could offer advice on how to become an > > independent contractor.
