It makes these issues tremendously easier to deal with. A lot of CPA's can be expensive, but I deal with a gentleman in Holyoke by the name of David Temkin (who works for D&P Business), who does very good, very honest work, at a resonable price. It may be that your tax needs will not be that complicated as a single contractor, however. IANAA, so take that advice as you will. Without knowing exactly what business you are involved in, I think it's a pretty good idea to have at least some form of protective insurance. We at the very least have policies that protect us if a customers equipment is damaged while in our care, for instance. If you are going it alone, joining a networking group like BNI isn't a bad idea either, as there are both a lot of people in a situation like yours who can give you advice, and a lot of people who can help get you the services you need (in terms of insurance etc.) Hope at least some of this helps -J -- Josh Mintzer, CCNA.
