I just had exactly the same problem at home, with exactly the same set-up.
After much trouble-shooting, it turned out to be a very simple fix.
What was happening was that our wireless router was too close to the cable
modem & simply interfering. I moved them away from each other and the
problem was solved.
Sounds almost too easy, but it sounds like you're having the same problem.
Hope this helps!

Subject: [Hidden-tech] Why am I losing internet connection frequently?
Hidden Tech compatriots:
Does anyone have a logical explanation for frequently losing connectivity to
the Internet under these circumstances?
* wireless with a router
* Comcast HighSpeed Cable Internet
* Linksys home wireless network
* we lose connectivity several times a day
* the problem is often remedied by unpluggigng and replugging in the
router box
Is this a Comcast probelm?
If not, is there anything i can do to improve it?
If so, what can I do to remedy the problem? Recommendations? (i don't want
to change providers)
Thank you!
