Great program last night! Just about 50 people packed into Greenfield Community College's downtown offices last night to showcase services and to discuss ways Franklin County officials can help Hidden-Tech companies thrive. Officials from non-profits relating to economic development and workforce development, business leaders, government officials and financial institutions were there to offer assistance and seek help from Hidden-Tech. Some of the issues HT companies raised related, as always, to the need for communication technology (broadband, cell service) in that region; communal space (whether incubators or business service centers); affordable health insurance; tax advice; training, and even a job. Kathy Reinig will be producing a full report that we will post. Anyone interested can stop by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and ask President Ann Hamilton to see the original list. It was great fun, informative and a warm up run for the big Hidden-Tech showcase -- Hidden-Tech Connect -- slated for May 17 in Holyoke. Promo is posted with an online registration posted right now at www.hidden-tech.net. And let's not forget that those of us from the Valley are invited to meet our colleagues in the Berkshires if you want to make the trek to Pittsfield on Tuesday, April 26. Promo on that event is on it's way. Thanks to Nancy Bair, workforce development director at GCC and Ann Hamilton of the Chamber for making this great event happen.
