The position:

The general function of a Software Application Engineer is to solve
customers' problems through the detailed understanding of their issues and
to bring timely and effective solutions by modifying existing applications,
by developing new ones, or by otherwise researching and resolving the source
of issues.   This is a highly visible position with a direct impact on the
customer experience and on MetaComet's bottom line.

 

General Qualities:

Good understanding of database architecture and database programming.
Excellent attention to details, good communication skills, good
documentations skills, and good aptitude for customer service practices.

 

 


 

Essential Job Functions (listing most important first)

 


1.

Support and Development of object oriented software systems, including
technical and user support.

 


2.

Maintenance of software development tools such as source control, unit
testing harness, automated build, etc.

 


3.

Customer Interaction

 


4.

Development and maintenance of system documentation and training manuals 

 


5.

20-30% travel is required

 


 

 

 


 

Essential Job Requirements

 


EDUCATION

BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

 


 

 

 


REQUIRED SKILLS

Programming experience in either C# or Visual FoxPro.

 


 

 

 


PREFERRED SKILLS

C#, Visual FoxPro, ASP.Net, SQL Server, and hardware knowledge.
