I have a 2.5Ghz dual G5 tower which has not had any problems with overheating nor have I heard of any overheating problems. There have been some problems with fans sometimes operating overly loudly, but this seems to have been fixed since about 10.3.6 or 10.3.7. There have also been some problem with the earliest 17" G5 iMacs resulting in a higher than normal failure rate, at least in part due to some bad capacitors. This seems to have been fixed in the most recent versions as well. The Macintouch.com website recently did a reader survey of failure rates on all G5 models with interesting results. Most were about industry standard except for the original 17" G5 iMac. Unfortunately the survey results seem to be missing from the Macintouch site. I'd go to 6.5 or stay with 4.1. -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- DEDICATION TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
