The Western Mass .NET Users group, which is devoted to bringing together users, developers and authorities on .NET will be hosting it's next monthly meeting Tuesday, September 6 at 6:00 PM in Northampton. This is a great place to find answers to questions and learn the latest about the .Net environment. Software developers, project managers, students and anyone interested in software development on the Microsoft platform are encouraged to attend. The next presentation will be Enterprise Development in the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Environment by Sam Gentile. With the upcoming release of Visual Studio Team System 2005 (VSTS), code named Whidbey, Microsoft has finally made a large commitment to Enterprise Developers working in teams. The VSTS IDE and the associated Team Foundation Server bring a new robust source control system, work item tracking and dozens of other features. We will then look at the many new features of the CLR/.NET Framework 2.0 including Generics, Itterators, Anonymous Methods, Debugging Visualizers, to name but a few. We will pay special attention to .NET Generics, which can be utilized from any managed language. Examples will be given in VB.NET, C# and C++/CLI. Sam Gentile: Sam Gentile is internationally known and recognized for his comprehensive expert Microsoft and .NET knowledge, and has been acknowledged by Microsoft as an MVP for C#/.NET. for the last 2 years in a row. Sam delivers .NET training to user groups and companies all over the world. He is the co-author of (Wrox's Professional Visual C++ .NET), as well as articles published by MSDN, O’Reilly, and .NET Developer’s Journal.
