Peter, I'm afraid that the truth is the "usual response:" It depends. If you're self-employed, there are a handful of associations that you can purchase health insurance through (I presume that you are referring to health insurance). The pricing is almost always better if you've got more than one person covered (as in, one or more employee). You typically have a range of plans to choose from. If you've not checked into some of these groups, let me know and I can pass on some contact information. With best regards, Steve Caron PS If you're working with a comprehensive, fee-only personal financial planner, you should expect that your medical coverage -- and all other insurances -- will be included in the scope of their review, with the goal of getting you more protection for your money. Hello All, Does anyone have any good advice about family insurance plans? I'm married, with three kids (ages 5, 3, and 18 months). Between premiums and deductibles, I'm looking for part-time tech-writing work just to keep up! Thanks in advance.
