As far as direct response to Amy's question - another off the wall from 
the orange idiot and friends.

Personally, be sure to carry a passport level id (passport card or 
Driver license with REAL ID)

Also, if you get auto payments (EFT) to a checking account, I'd 
recommend moving a chunk
of cash (preferably 3 months expenses) to a new account that is not 
setup to transfer
from that first account.

It's called being safe not paranoid.
