Well the *easiest* way (assuming the old disk is not encryoted), is to pull
the old disk out and use a (cheap) SATA <=> USB adapter to attach the old disk
to the new computer.  All of her files should be there.

All of the Lenovo Thinkpads I have had (well older ones) have easy to remote
hard drives: one screw to remove the "cover" and then the drive can be pulled
out and the carrier removed (four screws).
