Some missing info: ISP connection, Computer type, which browser, do you have a virus checker installed ? I did some hunting and the only error I found like that talks about having an older browser that is out of date, sounds unlikely. Those notes point to browser features that are not enabled - like javascript, that sounds like you had a lot more trouble. I see 2 likely options - there is now a built-in chrome virus checker for the Windows version of Chrome, I've not seeing it there is a way to disable it. Or you have a virus checking addon from any virus software you have. There is one related issue - an 'advertising addon' is being used by the paid content which is what is blocked. Most likely browser - I've not see too many ISP issues of late. Also, your comment about only blocking NY Times content does seem very narrow of an issue. Good luck R. I do not understand this at all. Why on earth would a browser block me from accessing certain paid content and no other content? This error message comes up ONLY with the NY Times. > > One more possible clue: This doesn't happen when I use my cellphone on the same wifi system as my laptop to access the pages in question. In other words, if I get blocked on my laptop by something saying I am a robot, I can then read that story on my cellphone. (Which of course is a hassle.) > > Can anyone shed light on this?
