[Hidden-tech] Recording hdmi presentation

Hello,
Looking for suggestions on best way to record a 5hr long power-point presentation via HDMI out of a laptop. Can an hdmi splitter be used to send a laptop’s output to both a laptop (for recording the PowerPoint) and to the projector simultaneously? Thanks for your help.
