[Hidden-tech] Word Perfect

If all that is wanted is the *text*, it should be possible to use the
UNIX/Linux "strings" program. (If you don't have a Linux machine available,
strings is also available under MacOSX as a command line program in a terminal
window.)

This program will dump out anything in the file that looks like ASCII text.

The formatting, etc. will be lost, but at least the raw text can be extracted
and imported into a word processor program (eg MS-Word). This will get nearly
all of the text if the documents are in English (and probably any language
using the Latin alphabet). Some characters might be lost (eg some punctuation
characters, etc.), but they can generally be infered from the context.
