Since you said it was a crashed disk - maybe the disk was a encrypted drive ? I've never tried it SO I wonder if you can get what looks like individual files which are encrypted and not the file system being encrypted Filesystem-level encryption, often called file-based encryption, FBE, or file/folder encryption Also you might also try unzip or wmic - which can tell you what the file looks like wmic is a bit tricky and not might tell you what you want but worth a shot See https://superuser.com/questions/898017/windows-command-to-get-all-information-properties-of-a-file R.
