Hi, My iPhone 14 Pro Max is stuck on the black screen with the white logo. Ironically, this occurred while trying to back the device up (via USB to a laptop, using iMazing); for reasons beyond my control, there is no current backup of it and several thousand photos on there that need to not be lost. I have yet in many years been able to find anything on the web about fixing this particular (and very common) issue - WSOD, BSOD, etc. etc., but not the Black Screen White Logo of Death or whatever it is called (I can't even find anyone who calls it something). Apple says, of course, try updating the OS and if that fails restore from backup. Apple's "your world is perfect so that when we are imperfect you can always make it right" approach to things is delightful and all, but not realistic, certainly in this case. Almost every other Apple problem usually has a fix outside of their stock footage support instructions. Maybe this one doesn't, but if anyone would know, maybe it's the folks in this group. Alternatively, I am willing to take it to a data recovery place. I would be mind-boggling if it turns out there is a recovery path for dropping it to the bottom of the sea or running it over with your semi-truck, but not this. If need be, I would like to take it to a local(ish) recovery place instead of to, say, NY or Boston; but most of all I don't want to make any intervention that permanently eliminates my ability to recover the data, so I would want to take it to a good recovery shop and don't even know if we have any around here. Any recommendations on safe DIY steps or local recovery shops for this? Thanks in advance! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
