Subject: [Hidden-tech] Facebook suspended my accounts

Hello ~
I recently "boosted" a post on my Facebook business page, and it has created a nightmare. Seems I was "hacked," my credit card was charged 3 times (card now canceled) and Facebook said I did nefarious things against its policies, and suspended the business page, my personal page, and my Instagram accounts. 
 
I tried to appeal at Facebook, and was denied. I cannot log in to Facebook. A site to download my account info did work, so I have downloaded all Facebook info. 
 
I tried to open a new account. Facebook would not let me.
 
Does anyone know what I need to do and how to proceed? There is too much stuff online about this and I do not know what/who to trust.

Tim, your main quest was for qualified advice about Tax Relief programs and
SS in retirement.

My comments are about "Very few of my clients ask for 1099."
I'm not an authority on it, but my impressions are these:
* Clients wouldn't necessarily ask *you* for 1099s; it's that some of your
clients are obliged to provide them *to you*.
* Clients that are business entities are obligated to provide them *to you*
if they paid you more than $xxx ($600?) in a particular tax year.

* If you bring on other carpenters that you treat as independent
contractors (because they qualify as such), and you pay them more than $xxx,
then you're obliged to provide them with a 1099 (whether they ask for it or
not).

Regarding optimizing social security in retirement:
* I believe that for your payments into SS during your working years, you
base your payment on all your Schedule C income (with or without 1099
documentation).

ChatGPT Aced the CPA exam; I think version 3.5 did, and v4 is better. First place to get answers, if not final answers. Per my firm's ORRR (Objection, Rebuttal, Reply Rule), there's a cascading series of "yeah-buts" to process regarding reliance on ChatGPT for professional advice if not service too, but I don't have time to lay out those trees of thought now.

Does anyone know someone who can both clean ducts and look for something in the duct work? My tenant keeps saying there is the noise of something hitting the intake fan. We had the furnace serviced and someone out to look at it and the furnace itself is fine so the issue is in the ductwork.

 

I also need someone to reconfigure some gutters so they don?t dump water in front of my tenant?s house.

I have neve had this error before. What are the TLS requirements? Do I need

Hi CW,

It sounds like you're attempting to connect to a server via FTP, and the 
server is rejecting your connection because it is configured to only 
allow FTPS (FTP over TLS) connections. Note that neither of those are 
the same as SFTP, which is typically when you use an SSH connection to 
manage remote files.

If you want to use FTPS, then you probably need to explicitly tell your 
file transfer client to do that. Not knowing exactly which client you're 
using, I can't say exactly what steps to take. Maybe it's a checkbox for 
using encryption, or one for using a secure connection, or maybe you 
have to select `ftps` as the protocol or something like that.

If you want to use SFTP, then you should make sure that your server 
supports that, and that you have specified SFTP as the connection 
method. Like I said earlier, SFTP normally works over SSH and so your 
client would be attempting to connect on port 21.

Hi all,

Has anyone used the Shop30 store to purchase non-local / digital products?
There was a deal just advertised for Office 2021 lifetime license for $60
<https://www.shop30deals.com/northampton/968-microsoft-windows>, which I
purchased a couple of days ago,  but I've received no license. The
confirmation email just provided a receipt and nothing else.

An email to their support said they aim to respond within *10* business
days...

I may do a chargeback but wanted to see if anyone had encountered long
delays with them.

It's disappointing , as I've used them successfully for the various local
restaurants and stores.

Sending the below on behalf of my wife, D. Dina Friedman. She has a new
book out and the particular emails she has not received are the ones that
allow her to update her Amazon author page. And yes, she checked that they
weren't going into Spam or Promotions.

I should perhaps mention that I have a similar problem: GMail has been
unable to fetch mail to my almost-never-used
shorowitz at goingbeyondsustainability.com address for 2+ years. When it WAS
working, it received only a message every several months so I haven't
bothered to fix it. Here's Dina:

Help Needed: I can?t reliably get email delivered to my web domain address
(connected to my gmail account). When I go into gmail, it says it?s
fetching the mails and states that a mail has been fetched but they don?t
show up in the inbox, or any other folder. This isn?t happening 100% of the
time. Yesterday, my husband was able to send me a message to that domain.
But I?m trying to get some important confirmation emails that this address
belongs to me, and none of them are being received, nor am I able to send

Per the now ~3 years censorship regime in the US, Google has experimented with censoring personal emails. It's rare and usually about important topics for which citizens are deemed too stupid to understand, for example Covid science, but I suppose it could misfire. I doubt this is the cause here but just FYI.

Hi Shel and Dina, if you not using your domain?s email as a discrete email
account, it will be more reliable to set it up as a direct forwarder to
your Gmail address at the DNS level (versus having Gmail fetch from an
under-equipped mail server that your web host is providing).

Good call - I've had a lot of issues with emails fowarded that used to 
work fine.
Many services esp gmail have gotten very nasty about having such setup 
properly.

My cell phone frequently drops calls when I am at home and I suspect that
it could be due to Internet outages lasting just a few seconds. I tried
restarting my router but want to troubleshoot further. Is there an app or
device that can detect and keep track of Internet outages?

I have an OKI C5200 laser printer that probably needs a new print drum, or
perhaps is just a goner. 

I also have three unopened toner cartridges that go to it.
