[Hidden-tech] Mail program for Mac running OS 10.5.8

I keep this ancient machine (2007, I think) solely because I sometimes need
to access either files that didn't copy over when I upgraded years ago (and
I ran into one of those today, I client who is coming in for an update) or
to access ancient emails from Eudora.

However, in addition to no longer supporting Dropbox, Skype, and Zoom, now
it won't support GMail or even Mail2Web. I had to copy the file onto a
thumb drive, and then--because the thumb drive didn't boot on the PC that
I'll be using to work on the client's file--I had to bring the thumb drive
over to the Mac and then email it to myself and then download to the PC. It
was a ridiculous process. While I will only need to do this maybe four
times a year, I'd rather there is a simpler way to just email the file and
skip the thumb drive. The program doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles
but needs to be able to load from that machine, attach a file, and send.
Anyone now of such a beast?
