Ed, I don't think much of Dropbox for file sharing--I use WeTransfer for FTP or just set up a Google Doc--but I've been using the freebie version of Dropbox to back up my photos since forever. When space starts to get tight, I bck up the camera uploads folder to an external hard drive and then empty the folder. Of course, if that hard drive dies, I'm in trouble, but I believe it is connected to my Carbonite during the rare times it's connected to a computer.
