Hi Rich and Rob, I have been working on an App dealing with the creation and uploading of digital assets that are subsequently "minted" as NFTs. We initially chose to work with a private blockchain implementation as a fork of Ethereum (per the client's initial request) but eventually opted to migrate to using Polygon for a number of reasons which I can elucidate further if anyone is interested. We launched the app in early beta a couple weeks back and have seen over 12k NFTs minted so far. I believe the market is rich with opportunity but also rife with misconceptions. The opportunity to verify and validate origination of digital and non-digital content through the use of a smart-contract employed on a public ledger is, I agree, an invaluable part of the evolution of the internet. That does not mean that everything created has a special value simply because it is now logged and verified via a blockchain. NFTs are not pet rocks, but a photo of my grandmother is mostly valuable to me because of its sentimental value, not because I can prove it is an original photograph. You wouldn't buy it from me just because it is original. If anyone wants to discuss, I'm happy to answer based on our experience as the technology partners in our small slice of this brave new world.
