[Hidden-tech] Installing Linux --> Docker on Win10

Ben,

Unfortunately, that FAQ was pre-release. The current documentation
(https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/hyper-v-on-windows/quick-start/enable-hyper-v)
says "The Hyper-V role cannot be installed on Windows 10 Home."

I will revert to WSL1 and see if I can run with that.

Thanks,

Alan

Hi Alan,

I have limited experience running WSL and WSL2, but on a Windows Pro
edition.

According to this FAQ, you should be able to run WSL2 on Windows Home
edition. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/wsl2-faq

You may need to enable virtualization in your computer's BIOS menu on
start-up.

You can also just try using the WSL1 which does not use Hyper-V to the
best of my knowledge, but WSL2 will be faster for many operations.

Let me know if you make progress. I've been meaning to play around
with Docker myself.

Good luck,

Ben Lazan
