[Hidden-tech] large screen for watching movies on Netflix?

 I would love to have a large screen to watch movies from netflix and
Hulu.  ( I never want to see the screen when I am not watching so I would
put it behind a large, vintage u.s map that would roll up to expose the
screen. So I don't want any black boxes that would have to sit on a table
either )
1. I want something all mounted, with maybe 2 cords ( power and ethernet.
2. I don't want cable tv
3. Is smart tv the answer? I don't want to buy any other services.
I had a roku stick once and that was too cumbersome to use.
4. I have a laptop that I would like to control it with, but would be happy
to just have a remote.
Any current technologies that would work for me?
