Even before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, many organizations were 
already successfully hosting their internships virtually, providing a 
pathway for other organizations to follow, quickly switch gears and move 
their internships to remote platforms. (See the P.S. below if your 
organization would like to join them!)

Arts Extension Service marketing intern Rachael Chen recently caught up 
with Lia Fialho

a BDIC graduate of UMass Amherst who earned her AES Management Campus 
Certificate along with degrees in Marketing and Dance Production & 
Management, to talk about Lia’s experience working remotely. She found 
many advantages to pursuing a remote internship as a marketing associate 
for an innovative digital design agency based in Fort Worth, Texas.
