[Hidden-tech] JOB: Freelance scientific illustrator and graphic designer for UMass Amherst faculty

The Office of Research Development at UMass Amherst is seeking an experienced freelance scientific illustrator/graphic designer to produce graphics for a scientific research grant proposal with a mid-June deadline. The project will involve developing several conceptual illustrations and an organizational management chart for an interdisciplinary physics/chemistry/engineering project.  The designer would need to be available for revisions. The ability to participate in an in-person meeting on the UMass Amherst campus is preferred. We are also interested in talking to illustrators and designers for future faculty research proposals. Projects might include creating scientific illustrations, designing a concept diagram from a sketch, remaking and refining data visualizations (graphs, charts and tables), or refining a graphic the faculty member has created.
