I use Google sheets to manage work hours for a community garden. NO ONE has the ability to change the actual worksheet that takes the data from the form and puts it into a worksheet, except me. They use the form to enter information. I have hidden this sheet so no one can see it, and have view only permissions for the two sheets where people can see their totals. I got a lot of help on the formulas from the Google Community. If the owner is not tech-savvy, the person should delegate responsibility to manage the sheets to someone who is? Like the bookkeeper??? Dont? know if my method will work for you. Annamarie On 26 Jun 2019, at 19:34, dlesser--- via Hidden-discuss wrote: > Good thinking. I will definitely try that. Both are uncredited, require no web development background, and are open to anyone who?s interested. I?m a huge believer in continuing education and the job opportunities coding can provide: my own career trajectory took a huge turn about ten years ago, from marketing to web dev, after I took courses at the Boston Center for Adult Education. That alone has opened countless doors for me - including the ability to run a digital agency with some incredibly talented people out here in lovely Greenfield. Course descriptions are below...please share with friends and fam! WordPress 101 T/Th 10/8?10/24 ? 6:00?8:00pm This course will teach you everything you need to know to create your own self-hosted Wordpress.org website. You?ll learn the basics of setting up a WordPress.org website, choosing a theme, customizing it, extending it with plugins and widgets, configuring it for SEO, and maintaining it on an ongoing basis. We will look at and edit a few lines of code, but no prior coding experience is necessary, and all sessions will be geared toward beginners. Each student will be provided with their own WordPress website to work on for the purposes of learning and testing. Shopify 101 T/Th 9/10?9/26 ? 6:00?8:00pm There's a lot of reason to be excited about e-commerce and it's growth potential in years to come, but what makes Shopify so unique is it's capabilities as a platform, combined with the relative ease and approachability for beginners. With Shopify, you have access to the same e-commerce platform that Budweiser, New York Times and Black Dog use. By the end of this course, you?ll know the basics of creating an e-commerce business plan, starting a Shopify store, selling your product online, and scaling it for future growth. No prior coding knowledge is needed. Each student will be given their own unique Shopify development store to work on for the purposes of learning and testing. In the modern world, it seems that the answer to every programming question is somewhere on the web. And although 99% of the answers are clear, I have run into one question which has many answers and I don't understand any of them--they provide code, but I don't understand where to put it nor which elements of the answer need to be modified to work with my code. Specifically, I am trying to do an autosuggest list--the user types BAR and the form automagically provides suggestions such as Barack Obama, Barbie Dolls, and bargain basement. Everybody likes the Twitter/Bootstrap typeahead module and I have been able to get it to work with form elements created at page load time. The issue is that I need to get it to work with dynamic elements (and worse, with elements that change whether they want this behavior based on radio button selection). I have found several solutions to this problem: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/22321101/twitter-typeahead-autocomplete-to-dynamically-added-inputs https://stackoverflow.com/questions/15094680/add-a-listener-to-an-element-that-is-dynamically-added/15094730#15094730 https://github.com/twitter/typeahead.js/issues/224 Good--I'm glad that the experts have run into this and figured out how to work around it. I am looking for guidance on how to go the last few inches to actually making it work on my own page. And the posts above are all several years old, so I'm guessing that trying to follow up there will not get much attention. I have confirmed it is possible for this model phone, but now I need the right brand of USB-C adapter. I bought a Belkin brand one but alas, it is not compatible with *any* cellphones. I just got off the phone with Samsung tech support and the guy says the "AllEasy" brand of adapter will work with my phone, but alas, it looks only available at Amazon and they're out of stock indefinitely. See https://www.amazon.com/AllEasy-Thunderbolt-Compatible-Aluminium-Indicator/dp/B074V4B8B8 I need to hardwire my phone asap due to worsening symptoms being around the wireless signals. I had someone come to my house last week and his EMF measuring devices went sky high when near my cellphone and modem. I have already shut off the wifi at the modem and the "bridge", and use my laptop with an ethernet cable. I see a difference in symptoms already. And if you have a proper adapter available, even if it's used but working fine, please let me know what price you'd like for it. I am going to call the fine folks at LessEMF now, and see if they carry this item. And please let me know if you are someone who is also developing these sensitivities and would like to learn/share more. I wonder if others have had problems with ESB, and I?d be grateful for bank recommendations. Some of the ESB failings are: * When ESB migrated their online banking, they forced us to re-enter all payees, and for a while the old system kept paying in double the new systems, yet we could not login to the old. * Both online and called notice of travel failed to enable cards to work out of state, and that very requirement puts cost of security on the customer more so than other cards and banks we've use. * Town tax changes caused increase of mortgage/tax payments by $6.95/mo, and with no prior notice about this change, this prompted mailed threats of collections for $6.85 (of ~$1800) being late less than a month. ESB?s SVP, Commercial Services Manager, Maura Kelly, denied my request for compensation in the form of some months of free use of our $20/mo business check scanner. Her evasions and excuses suggest lack of ownership of the problems, which spirit suggests future problems are likely. Again, I?d be grateful for Greenfield-local recommendations for a new bank, preferably local, but I realize that economies of scale in bank tech may make a national bank with a local branch the better choice. Greenfield Savings Bank. I have had *zero* problems. Free checking (that is their *big* selling point). I'm looking to interview several developers to bring onto the project if it moves forward. I would need about 30 minutes of your time to discuss your knowledge, look at some of your past work, and see if we both feel it's a good fit. Pay is flexible and we can discuss this on our call. My needs: - Strong understanding of non-relational databases - Strong understanding of Node - Strong understanding of React or Vue - Strong work ethic & ability to work with teams (we'll be functioning on tight deadlines - and looking at a small team of 2-4 people) - Strong understanding of AWS and has deployed projects there before This project is only for those who have a lot of experience under their belts and are comfortable jumping into semi-complex projects and getting them done well and on time. There will be potential for ongoing work to maintain this project if interested. If you know someone who may be interested, let me know! I got into Terminal and searched the temporary folder, and it looks like a root folder might be missing. I don't know enough to dig any deeper than that. I wonder if I somehow put an entire root folder in the trash. > On July 28, 2019 at 1:44 PM Shel Horowitz wrote: > > Try searching for a couple of keywords in one of the documents. Two other possibilities: Could you have *somehow* renamed the folder to have a period as its first character? Files and directories whose names start with a period (under UNIX/Posix O/Ss) are considered "hidden" and don't show up under "normal" conditions. (MacOSX *is* UNIX, under the hood.) Secondly, Since MacOSX *is* UNIX, under the hood, you also have this option: Open a Terminal (yes, I know were are entering the totally scary (?) world of the command like) and enter (with the keyboard!): find -name "*one of your missing document names*" (The '"' and '*' are needed -- I am guessing your documents have "funny" characters, like spaces in them and you probably have no clue about the document's "suffix".) Don't forget to press ENTER and the end of the command. You can also try: ls -A (The find command recursively traverses your directory tree, the ls command with the -A open will show hidden files and directories.) Also, my MacMini has the locate command (I don't know if that is a standard feature of MacOSX or if I installed it as an after market thing, maybe with MacPorts). So that is another way of finding files. > > On Sun, Jul 28, 2019, 12:15 PM Claire Huttlinger via Hidden-discuss < > hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net> wrote: > > > Greetings: > > > > Does anyone know how to recover a document folder form a Mac OS hard > > drive? While other banks got honorable mention, Greenfield Savings Bank got by far the most high regards. So my mapping the move there is my next step. One of the several great values of this list is such recommendations. I should add that only with clear and overwhelming evidence of failings would I disparage a business on this list, as I did Easthampton Savings Bank. The short list of problems I recounted were salient but not close to all instances. As I explained to ESB's VP on the phone, my feedback to them first and my request for a mere gesture of redress were in part aimed to give them feedback by which to improve to where they were for many good years prior. Their responses showed a lack of acknowledgement that usually means problems will continue. And tech problems in one's bank can be expensive, hence my warning to all here. This time, seeking a recommendation for a lawyer who can represent a disabled low income tenant in removing/settling an old judgment from 4 1/2 years ago in Franklin County, brought about by a very unethical landlord who had a high-priced lawyer. It was a retaliatory eviction case. The judgment is in the way of future housing prospects, (property rental AND purchase, apparently) so sadly, it must be addressed. It's unbelievable, but apparently these housing court records stay active and public for TWENTY YEARS here in MA. (Aren't bankruptcies only on your credit report for SEVEN years?) If someone knows a disability lawyer who is well-versed in housing law and who is ACTUALLY AVAILABLE to take on this work, that would be a good candidate. And again, another one that needs attention asap. Thanks in advance, Deb Chandler -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
