Margot,

Last year my wife and I had the same issue with converting vinyl to a 
digital format.  We used the ION turntable which working pretty well (it 
was a bit time consuming).  They also have a cassette version ...

The turntable version also had an input device so we could have 
connected a cassette player to it and run it through the turntable to 
the computer.
