A very exciting new company has just located in the valley.    POGO  
Jet, Inc. intends to be a leading provider of private on-demand jet  
charter service using the new generation of
Very Light Jets, initially in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Ohio Valley  
and the Carolinas.  Service is planned to commence in early 2009.   
Their corporate HQ will be in Chicopee at Westover Airport.

They are currently starting a search for a Director of IT.


POSITION PURPOSE:
Manage Information Technology department, serving as the focal point  
for information technology
and telecom-related issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  Work with Senior Management to develop IT strategies and objectives
  Implement and manage:
o Physical IT-related infrastructure
o Help Desk
o Security
o Vendor relations
o Telecommunications, including wireless voice and data
o Assorted development projects

Recruit, supervise, and manage career development of IT personnel
  Administer IT department including creating and managing budgets
  Coordinate IT facility planning with Senior Management
  Work with Senior Management to identify IT procurement requirements  
and coordinate technology
procurement activities

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  Ability to plan and execute on-time, on-budget information  
technology projects, including the management
of third party software and implementation vendors
  Understanding of application development and data management.   
Knowledge of Microsoft development
technologies a plus
  Excellent organization and communication skills
  Ability to manage the information technology operations in a fast- 
growing, start-up environment


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  Bachelor or master degree in a technical field or advanced technical  
training
  Minimum seven years of progressive IT management experience
  Experience leading application implementation and/or development  
projects
  Prior involvement in determining and setting information technology  
strategy
  Prior experience with data management strategies
  Experience negotiating and managing outside vendor relationships;  
contract experience a plus
