Cynthia,

For price comparison purposes, you can ask this company for a quote
(http://www.connecticutsecretary.com/)...they were referred to me although I
never used them. 

A while back, I found free software called Express Scribe
(http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/) that allows a transcriber to slow down and
speed up the playback speed and makes it easy to move backwards and forwards
in the recording using the computer keypad. It avoids having to invest in
specialized transcription equipment.
