Let's take a good look at the cost:

Cell phone; $19.95 with some plan that's long finished,
MP3 player; About $80 - 100. (an iPod isn't an MP3 player, it uses the MP4
format),
PDA; Business card holder from Staples, $9.95, TI scientific calc from
Wal-Mart, $9.95.

Yes, not as slick, takes more space, etc but all of it has a whole less
tendency to "walk," as did my HP48G calc last year.
