The Commonwealth Alliance for IT Education (CAITE), managed out of UMass
Amherst and recently funded by NSF, is holding a conference on 9/27 11am-4pm
for undergraduate students** from UMass Amherst, Holyoke Community College,
Springfield Technical Community College and Greenfield Community College. 

 

The purpose of the conference is to encourage students** to pursue careers
in IT by showcasing women in various companies and careers related to IT or
that require IT skills. Technology Trends Panel topics to include Business,
Healthcare, Communication, Arts, Social Responsibility. The conference will
conclude with a career networking pavilion with various local and national
companies, including Microsoft and Partners Healthcare.

**The goal of the alliance is to reach out to underserved populations -
women and minorities in groups that are underrepresented in the
Massachusetts innovation economy; that is, economically, academically, and
socially disadvantaged residents.
