CHANCE TO MEET NEW COLONIAL THEATRE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Gilded Age Exhibit

Thanks to Berkshire coordinator Peter Bergman, Hidden-Techies have a
tremendous opportunity to make business and personal contacts on Saturday,
June 3, including meeting David Fleming, the new executive director of the
recently-restored Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield.

Fleming, who was chosen from a field of 38 candidates during a national
search, has 28 years of experience directing performing art centers in New
Jersey, Texas, Delaware and Wisconsin. He earned his master of fine arts
degree in theater arts from Smith College in Northampton. He will begin his
duties full time on or about June 1. The restoration of the circa 1903
building is expected in mid-July, with the first performance, the
award-winning musical "Rent," slated to start Aug. 29.

Besides being among the first to meet Fleming, and scope out the sorts of
subcontracted work the theatre will need, you will also have a chance to
tour the restore Colonial and meet with executives of the Barrington Stage
at tea time. Becky Smith owner of the Thaddeus Clapp House, Wendell Avenue,
is providing the Hidden-Tech community tea and snacks later in the day.
There is no charge.

This is a kid's friendly day so don't hesitate to bring them. There's no
guarantee that food will be on sale at the Arrowhead Museum, home of Herman
Melville and a gorgeous spot, so make sure you bring a snack and something
to share if you like.

And if you can't make it to Arrowhead or the Colonial Theatre tour, reach
Amy Zuckerman at az at a-zinternational.com about dropping in for tea.
