[Hidden-tech] How to remain connected when traveling to Europe

I know you’re asking about Europe, but I was just in Mexico, and my Verizon plan simply included calls within Mexico, to the US, and always from the US to Mexico.

Several others I met there, with Verizon, had a wide variety of situations, including $5 per day, $25 per month, and more; and when I called Verizon to help a friend there, they said it all depends on your particular calling plan (mine is grandfathered).

Laura asked about my phone.

I have a Nexus 5X, which has been discontinued. We discovered this when my son needed to replace it. He ended up switching to another phone plan because they wanted HIM to pay for the more expensive phone to replace his under-warranty 5X. Tacky!
