[Hidden-tech] Word Press Campus hosts?

Hi folks

I think it's awesome that there's so much interest here! I actually don't
think Hampshire has ideal facilities to host this conference. As a
long-time web developer/employee of Hampshire College and someone who is
actively involved with the WPCampus community, I've already given the idea
of hosting this conference much consideration and have decided against
proposing it for this year. There are far better facilities in the area to
host such an event, even Mt Holyoke comes to mind since we've hosted the
HighEdWeb New England conference there a couple times in the last few
years. I think it would be fantastic to bring this event to the area, but
I've already got far too much on my plate at the moment and I know the Mt
Holyoke web team does as well. I'm in the process of organizing the larger
(700 people) HighEdWeb conference in Hartford, CT right now, along with the
head of web services at Mt Holyoke and folks from other colleges and
universities. The WPCampus community is largely a small subset of the
HighEdWeb community and the organizations cross-pollinate and advertise for
each other.

That's my really long way of saying that I'd love to be involved with
hosting this event, but this year is not an option for me, and I also think
a different campus would have better facilities. I can't speak for the
WPCampus organizers, but they may be looking for a location this year that
is not as close to Hartford since there's so much overlap in the community.

I will also mention that emailing summer at hampshire.edu is not a good idea
since that is strictly for summer academic programs, and if you were to
call that main switchboard number I have no idea where they might redirect
your call to.
