Also, Ira:
Is it Leni Fried you were thinking of? She's great, has been making buttons since 9/11. Here's a good article:

Thanks, everyone, for your ideas...

My research has shown:
• Silver Screen isn't really set up, or cost-effective, for small quantities.
• Michael's Craft and other similar stores sell DIY plastic buttons which are lesser quality and don't close securely, but are cheap to buy. Creatology is the brand. Several different sizes available.
• Guild Art Center in Northampton makes 1" and 1 1/2" buttons for 95¢ - $1.50 each, (less for higher quantities) and if they can, they'll do it in as little as 20 minutes if a small quantity. You provide your own artwork, printed on a full sheet of printer paper, and they punch it out, and assemble the buttons. This is where I'm going to go for this project. Even though the size is a smaller than I initially wanted, the quality and timing wins out.

Thanks again,
Deb

Not sure if they do so few, but https://www.silverscreendesign.com/ is an excellent local company in that field.
