[Hidden-tech] Car transportation

It's been 17 years, but in 2000 the state of the art was car transportation companies. It's truck based. They load up the car in a carrier and drive it door to door. Some moving companies will load it in their van, depending on car size.
Some companies insist that the car be in working condition.
Consider insurance or check with your insurer. Our experience included damage at the far end.

Has anyone shipped a car over multiple states? On the train or using a carrier of sorts? Any info or recommendation would be helpful.

Thanks,
Carey
