It's been 17 years, but in 2000 the state of the art was car transportation companies. It's truck based. They load up the car in a carrier and drive it door to door. Some moving companies will load it in their van, depending on car size. Some companies insist that the car be in working condition. Consider insurance or check with your insurer.
