Good to know- but he didn’t give a shit- so would I turn to go daddy? They seemed more interested in protecting the rights of anyone who is paying them, even though I have 6 websites with them

Ira, for the future, you know enough about copyright to know you can legally shut down anyone who is repurposing your content without your permission. Of course, if the registrant is in Russia and the owner is in Cameroon, your legal rights "don't mean crap." But if the webhost or the owner is in the US, you can do CMCA Copyright violation notices, etc.

Nice to know my defunct content might succeed in selling dog food

    Ira,
unfortunately, that leads to my maxim, never let a domain go -- at the
very least renew it and park it,
you might make enough to pay the fees -- and definitely better for piece
    of mind.

BTW, that 'parked for free' means he is getting any revenue the park is
producing, if it's just your old content, and maybe some for really good URL
