With Verizon at my house, a tech switched me to a less crowded channel, from his end—most of my neighbors are on channel 1 or 2, he said, and some were switched to 3, he put me on 7, and everything’s improved since then, especially loading/ buffering on the tv, connected via wifi

No sure how accurate this performance map not supplied by Comcast is, but I have found it useful: http://downdetector.com/status/comcast-xfinity/map/ .

I’ve also learned that increasingly wireless devices at nearby neighbors, and perhaps other wireless devices in a the same building, obfuscate the signal. In the last two weeks, I’ve gone retro, hardwiring my workstations to the comcast modem, and so far I’ve had none of the past problems.

Are other folks having a problem with connecting?  I've heard some buzz locally about slow speeds.  I had it the last 3 weeks, finally re-set the modem, and lost my connection (doesn't appear) to wifi. Because I get all "Amy Schumer-y" at the prospect of calling Comcast, I would appreciate H-T help in how to solve what, for most of you, might be a simple problem.
