[Hidden-tech] JOB: Part-time Perl programmer in Brattleboro, VT

Reports to: Corporate Responsibility Operations Manager

Position: Hourly Non-Exempt or Contractor Location: Office in downtown Brattleboro, VT

Schedule/Hours: Hours TBD; 10-15 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, update, and troubleshoot existing Perl web application
• Assist in development of XML translation, XBRL translation, and data import/export functions
• Aid with the transition from Perl code base to JavaScript programming (Ajax, JQuery, Angular)
• Follow and refine software testing and bug reporting protocols (using JIRA Issue and Project Tracking)
• Database and mapping administration for MySQL database
• API R&D for use within the OneReport application and with third parties
• Help to update and maintain web application front end layout and design
• Collaborating/process development with other software developers
• Project and operations management and support

Potential Responsibilities:

• System administration, ideally in a UNIX /Ubuntu environment
• Security administration, including security policies and practices
• Public website development and content management

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• High functional proficiency in Perl programming (required)
• High functional proficiency in JavaScript programming (Ajax, JQuery, Angular) (desired)
• Experience translating to and from XML, XBRL, and with developing data import/exporting tools
• Organized, efficient, and attentive to detail and accuracy
• HTML/web layout and design experience (potentially including website builders and content management systems)
• Familiarity with and interest in corporate responsibility
• Experience testing software preferred, but not required
