With the right software, you should be able to work with the VOB files once they're on your hard drive.  There are also ways to import them seamlessly into one continuous vob, which will avoid glitches between the 1GB VOBs.
Once edited, you can export/compress normally.  I've heard of people at least being able to edit and export from DVD using Moviemaker, though I haven't myself and don't know of an easy method using free software.  You might find one that will work with the "change the file extension from vob to .mpg" trick and be able to go from there.  I should be reachable this afternoon if you are still stuck.  413-586-3296.

No go.  I think I’m just missing some key info. And it’s easier to do than I’ve found.  Or do I really need to buy some editing software?  Any help is appreciated! At this point, I’d even pay someone (a small fee) to do it!Jeannette_______________________________________________
