[Hidden-tech] Alternatives to Google Custom Search Engine?

Ironic that Google CSE is shutting down, as a search company we created 
a hosted search using SOLR a few years ago,
however never really grew the service.

You might search for 'hosted search' to see what services fit your size 
of site, making sure there is a wordpress plugin for it.
I use a self hosted Elasticsearch engine, with a WP plugin now, I'm 
starting to hunt for hosted alternatives.
Since my sites need a more complex search then a simple CSE.

HOWEVER - you might what to revisit your effort - as I can find no 
evidence that CSE is being shutdown.
What is shutting down is Google site search which is not the same as CSE 
(Custom search engine), which will continue.

Check at: https://cse.google.com/cse/ -- you might need to make some 
changes for that.
