[Hidden-tech] graphing/business-intelligence apps to integrate with our product

MachineMetrics <http://machinemetrics.com> offers a web-based service for
monitoring the operation and performance of machines in factories and
machine shops.
So of course a big part of our product is about reporting & displaying
results to our customers - all kinds of charts and graphs: summary bar
charts and pie charts against time or category, Paretos, distributions &
variance, historical trends, etc. etc.

We're looking for 3rd party products and services...
1) that we can use to embed graphs directly into our web application, for
real-time display.
2) that our customers can buy or subscribe to as an "advanced reporting"
option - where we'll expose their data (e.g. as a SQL connection) so they
can import, then design and tweak graphs & reports to their heart's content.

Our customers aren't generally data-scientists, or they are amateur data
scientists/graph-geeks like us - but wow can they come up with an endless
stream of requests for how they'd like their data sliced, diced and
displayed.

We've been looking at ChartIO <http://www.chartio.com>, and talking about
Tableau <https://public.tableau.com/en-us/s/gallery>. Plot.ly
<https://plot.ly/products/industries/business-intelligence-analytics/> has
been mentioned.

Anybody on the list have some interesting experience to report?
Especially if you've explored several alternatives, we'd love to hear about
that!
