Generally a Codec error means PowePoint can't play the type of audio file
you are using. Try linking to an mp3 or some other generic audio file type
and see if that runs. Not sure what is supported on PPT 2010, but you could
always convert the file to another type if necessary. (Avoid WAV-they are
too big.)

I know this is an easy thing for most of you - but I'm not sure how to work
around this. I want to add some music to a photo slideshow in PowerPoint
2010. When I try to insert the audio file it gives me the "codec" error. Do
you know of a way to work around this?  I would like to add music out of the
iTunes library. I can see the list of music but I can't get past the error
message.
