Apple Store Praise -

My 2011 MacBook Pro’s video started acting up a month ago. I could not reboot it because of the failure. What to do?

It was mid-afternoon on a Monday. I went online to the Apple Store and made an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. There were earlier appointments but they did not fit my schedule. I arrived at my appointed time but had to wait just under 20 minutes for a tech to free up. He quickly diagnosed the issue (a failed board), printed out a report, and told me they would need to send it out for replacement. The turnaround was quoted as 3-5 days. I was also told that the repair fell under an Apple “quality program” and would be absolutely free!

On Thursday morning, I received a text message, an email, and a phone call telling me that my MBP was ready to be picked up. When it was handed over to me, the tech booted it up and had me verify its operation. Job done!

So, kudos to Apple for having a great product that has operated flawlessly over the last 5 years and for having a “quality program” that covered the only hardware glitch I have had in that time. Kudos, too, to the Apple Store for making it easy to schedule an appointment and having the needed repairs made in 2 days!

Oh yeah — big Apple fanboy here!

YMMV,

Theo Matthias
