Having taught Internet Marketing for a year at GCC, I applaud the Greenfield Digital venture.

With websites, one can always change and improve a site and fix mistakes that a relatively new worker might make. This makes website building for small businesses good for students and recent students. However, as a search marketing pro for 19 years, I have seen the whole industry hurt by the fact that most search marketing requires about as much training and experience as lawyers need, while most practitioners have not had such training and experience. Many businesses have have been hurt by search marketing, both SEO and PPC, done by people with inadequate qualifications. I’m not saying that Greenfield Digital’s GCC students are not fully qualified because I don’t know the team. I am saying that, with Google Analytics (GA) set-up properly—and no good search marketing pro does a lick of work before ensuring GA is set up to track ROI—judgement day comes for all search marketing work. I’ve dedicated most of my 19 years to SEO, while a partner in the firm has done so in PPC, and we can barely keep on top of the myriad changes and nuances in order to do our jobs well.

>> Hello - we are seeking help upgrading our website. It will involve transferring content from a number of existing web pages to new HTML templates, and requires a basic working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, and PHP - but not a high level of web development expertise. You would work remotely from your own space, with occasional meetings in the Amherst area. This might be a good opportunity for a programming student, or a web development professional just starting out, to gain more experience. If interested, please reply and let me know:
