Hi all,

Yet another example of why this is such a ggreat listserv....all these
ideas and clarifications from experts. Love it.

Also, two other ideas for recycling electronics:

1) there was a place that takes electronics donations for use in
creating robots and other inventions. I just can't remember their
name, and Google isn't showing any results...but I thought they were
in the Springfield area and their name had the word "geek" in it.
Anyone know who I'm talking about?

2) In the past, I have donated electronics to the Hilltown Cooperative
Charter School, when they were in Haydenville. They've moved to
Easthampton, and I don't know if they still take these donations. The
students take apart the items, learn about how things work, and
perhaps repurpose them. They are an arts-focused charter school. Their
website is http://www.hilltowncharter.org/ if you want to give it a
try.

And as far as Zip disks, there are apparently folks still using them.
I remember someone saying they are still being used by folks who do
business in China, because the Zip drive technology was still being
used over there for file storage. I still have many old files on Zip
disks, and one of these days, I will go through them using my G3 with
Zip drive, and then donate the disks and the computer to someone who'd
like them all.

Thanks,
Deb
