So I’m going with Frontpoint. They have a 60 day trial period. It’s all wireless using z wave tech (v. Wi-Fi) in the house and communicating with the security service by 100% cellular.

If anyone wants more detail, feel free to write.

FWIW, IRS Security - local alarm company - will use existing ADT wiring. Not sure that's exactly smart home stuff, but I recently bought a house with a lot of existing wiring and am adding some smoke/co2 zones.

I ran into that also. It's not just Comcast. No other alarm company will use another companies wiring. Reason is that they cannot quarter their system on another's wiring Kinda makes sense since they have no idea the condition or quality of the wires.

Comcast/Xfinity probably persuaded a friendly legislator to write that law, under the guise of uncertainty in quality. Nice touch for them, eh?

I can be even more specific.

Anyone have experience with Vivint, Frontpoint, ADT, My Alarm Center or their ilk?

I learned an odd factoid, Xfinity/Comcast is not allowed to ‘take over’ a home in MA and use an existing system hardware/wiring. Go figure.
