[Hidden-tech] Advice On Buying MacBook

[Out For Reel LGBT Film Series]

It's time to retire my 2008 MacBook Pro (I know I know - it's a dinosaur). I'd appreciate advice on what features/speed/memory I should definitely include in a MacBook. I do need enough power to edit short videos but I'm just using IMovie - not Final Cut Pro. 

Has anyone had success buying a refurbished MacBook from Apple?
