Joomla's ACL can handle this.  You define named access  levels or use the
default levels.  Defined access levels inherit from one of the default
levels.  Most content / menu related selectors allow filtering what is
displayed by access level.

The feeds and calendars themselves, you'll need to do some research about
how to prevent them from being seen without permissions, or accept that they
might not really be particularly private.
